MANILA, Philippines — Megaworld Corp. president Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso is the sole Filipino recognized among Forbes Magazine’s 50 Over 50 Global list for leading the company amid a challenging environment for the real estate sector.
The 61-year-old Megaworld official was appointed president in June 2024 and succeeded billionaire and company founder Andrew Tan.

“Gutierrez-Alfonso’s new role will be a challenge: borrowing costs remain high while rivals are aggressively constructing hotels in anticipation of a tourism rally,” Forbes said.
In separate advisories on Monday, Seaoil and Shell Pilipinas said the per-liter prices of gasoline and diesel would be reduced by 50 centavos and 70 centavos, respectively.
