MANILAdct casino, Philippines — A taxi driver was caught with P680,000 worth of crystal meth or shabu and an unlicensed gun in Muntinlupa City, the Southern Police District (SPD) reported yesterday.

Police said the 44-year-old driver, identified only as Esteban, was arrested during an anti-criminality operation conducted by the Muntinlupa city police intelligence section at the old city terminal in Alabang on Thursday.

The operation was launched after witnesses informed police of an armed man at the terminal, the SPD said.

The local government also deployed vehicles offering free rides to stranded passengers.

Accompanied by media vehicles, the convoy left the police custodial facility at Camp Crame and breached the emergency barrier on Annapolis to enter the busway.

Confiscated from Esteban were 100 grams of shabudct casino, with a street value of P680,000, and a .38-caliber pistol with four bullets. Charges for illegal possession of prohibited drugs and firearms were filed against the taxi driver.
